Primary responsibility of the Government Sales Representative (GSR) is to drive Government sales engagement in GSR’s assigned territory. The GSR will work closely with assigned Industry and Government Account Managers (IGAMs) and is responsible for and measured by the following performance metrics which are based upon Government opportunities:


  • Growth of Assigned Territory Sales Revenue via Government opportunities
  • Growth of the number of active Dealers and the number of Government opportunities each Fiscal period.


The GSR will directly support the efforts of specified IGAMs (Industry and Government Account Managers) with specific territory responsibility. The GSR will work closely with the IGAMs to ensure they are focused on achieving the above KPIs.  They will represent the IGAM as needed at trade shows, industry events, dealer functions, government sales calls and other functions as required.


  • Understand Government Programs and Sharp go-to-market strategy.
  • Understand pricing programs; Interaction with HQ Pricing Team.
  • Dealer Communication and Training as it relates to Government Programs.
  • Support the entire Sharp dealer portfolio of products.
  • Build relationships with dealers, dealer sales reps and Government end users.
  • Manage opportunities and work closely with the rest of the team to maximize revenue opportunities within the territory.
  • Work with pricing team and the Dealers to make sure all needed information is available and accurate when IGAM is unavailable.
  • Spend approximately 25% of the selling time out of the office working with IGAM’s visiting dealers and end users, attending industry events and trade shows, and assisting with selling activities.


The GSR will utilize all existing tools to support the dealers as well as manage their goals:


  • IGAM’s, Product management, Management and other Sharp selling personnel.
  • Trainers and web based training.



  • College degree preferred.
  • Copier, Printer and/or Professional Display industry sales experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Understanding of Sharp Channel structure and/or industry channel sales background is preferred.
  • 2 years B2B selling experience preferred (inside or outside, can be end user or channel sales).
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills required.
  • Knowledge and use of MS Office required.
  • Approximately 25% travel within a specific territory.
