Under the direction of the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sharp’s Consumer Display business, the Director of Sales is responsible for total account management of National Retail accounts such as Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Sam’s Club, BJ’s and Costco Wholesale inclusive of related dotcom entities, Regional Retail accounts such as Microcenter, PC Richard & Sons, Abt, RC Willey, AAFES, Nexcom, the CEDIA channel and National Distributors. Scope of responsibilities include SKU placement, pricing and program negotiation, merchandising programs, marketing programs both off-line and on-line, supply chain and financial reconciliation (as requested). Key to success will be the development and execution of an overall strategic sales plan: new product placement, forecasting, sell-thru promotions, key presentations and relationship building. This “hands-on” role will start as an invididual contributor role with direct reports as business scales.
This function includes a specific sales quota and strong negotiation skills are essential. The role needs to deliver success by setting clear customer and market expectations with measured milestones, consistent team communications and weekly reviews of progress, competitive threats and opportunities. Reporting includes sales call reports and weekly updates with a very close and effective union with both product and brand marketing.
