Under the direction of the Director of Advanced Technologies Group, the Sr. Product Planner will provide planning direction (e.g. be Agile Product Owner) to the development team for assigned projects including collaboration with SIICA and factory stakeholders.  Projects will be dependent on market needs and duration will vary. The individual will also be expected to identify emerging market trends, propose new B2B business opportunities and will also be responsible for identifying and collaborating with technology partners to expand the SIICA and/or global business.



  • Function as Agile Product Owner for assigned software development projects
  • Create stories (Agile requirements) for development team, help prioritize work, manage backlog based on stakeholder priorities and development team input
  • Collaborate with SIICA Product Management and other global stakeholders to understand market requirements and translate into actionable development activities; participate in customer research as possible
  • Analyze and report on competitive product strengths and weaknesses
  • Monitor and periodically report on emerging B2B market and technology trends including potential Sharp business opportunities related to trends
  • Propose new product concepts (including business models) to review with stakeholders to support SIICA and global B2B business expansion
  • Identify and collaborate with potential technology partners for licensing, partnership and/or acquisition exploration
  • Track and report assigned strategic partner (e.g. Amazon) strategies; help expand technical and business relationship between vendor and Sharp
  • Provide continual feedback to management regarding project status.




  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering related to cloud platforms, Internet of Things, ML/AI or SaaS solutions
  • Technology product planning or product management experience highly desired
  • BS required; MBA desired
  • Familiarity with REST, Web Services, API/SDK definition and cloud platform / application technologies
  • Agile development process and/or PO experience is desirable
  • Ability to create compelling presentations and analyses that convey business value to SIICA management/PMs, Sharp Japan and other stakeholders
  • Experience in identifying and collaborating with candidate technology partners
  • Background of working with multi-national co-workers and suppliers is a plus



  • Must be able to sit at desk for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work extended hours
  • Some domestic and international travel may be required



  • Experience defining and negotiating technology product requirements
  • Need excellent writing, verbal communications, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Must be self-motivated, flexible and able to work effectively with local and global technical teams, marketing/sales people, and customers
  • Must have command of English language adequate to effectively communicate technical information
