    Under the executive direction of the Vice President of SEC Corporate Human Resources, this position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and/or evaluating Company-wide training and performance development needs by improving employee job performance. Additional responsibilities include enhancing internal communications, and policies and designing programs to improve employee engagement.

    Responsibilities

    TRAINING:

    • Work closely with Department Heads and Managers to determine overall training needs.
    • Design, implement and deliver training programs via web and live.
    • Work closely with outside training vendors such as AMA to arrange on or off-site training seminars.
    • Conduct seminars, workshops, individual training sessions on a variety of topics related to HR including Benefits and Compliance.
    • Monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report on them
    • Manage Sharp University knowledge management e-platform serving all business units.
    • Maintain Skillsoft web based content in Sharp U.
    • Work with Management to set up and maintain external content in Sharp U, including reporting cababilities.
    • Assign all compliance and performance training
    • Design metrics and reporting for Department heads and Legal.
    • Design or author e-content for Sharp U.
    • Work with the MSG Media Group to film and finalize web based training material.
    • Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices.
    • Work with managers and individual employees on developmental training needs and/or performance issues.
    • Assess employees’ skills, talents, performance and productivity and prepare written evaluations with advice for improvement.
    • Create and manage a succession planning program and tools for managers and employees to use.
    • Create and manage a new hire orientation - training program with 30 day evaluations and employee feedback.
    • Administer the Tuition Reimbursement/Training Assistance Programs.

     

     

    COMMUNICATION:

    • Manage and maintain SEC Corporate HR intranet site.
    • Create and write HR policies and formal announcements to employees.
    • Work with HR Directors to create and implement a New Hire Entrance Interview program to provide ROI data and improvement recommendations to onboarding and orientation.
    • Set up and manage a new hire’s first 30 days with introductions and networking meetings to better aquiaint them with the Company and its processes.

    Qualifications

    • Must possess a college degree, although advanced degree is preferred, in a related field.
    • 5-10 years proven track record in designing and executing successful training programs.
    • Must be able to work comfortably with all levels of management and lead a project group.
    • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc).
    • Strong writing and record keeping ability and data analysis for reports and training manuals.
    • Good computer and database skills, including eLearning platforms, good systems and organizational design skills.
    • Strong project management and change management skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and leadership skills.
    • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively.
    • Ability to travel domestically up to 25% to conduct individual Sharp location training initiatives.
