    Position located in Downtown Los Angeles


    The Software Project Manager is responsible for management of software product development and coordinating with overall product development as a part of Sharp’s product development team. 


    • Plan, coordinate, and execute software project or development of TV Display, and consumer electronics products, iOS and Android applications, product ecosystem, and platform.
    • Staying current on technologies and solutions
    • Work with executive management and cross functional teams – Finance, Product Management, Marketing, UI/UX designers, and others.
    • Manage software product lifecycle.
    • Facilitate and coordinate meetings with technology partners for planning and collaboration of product development.
    • Plan and review all stages of software development cycle, which starts with preparation of product requirement document, functional specification, and project schedule, milestone check, final acceptance criteria validation, maintenance, and end of life planning.
    • Participate in business and technical evaluations of projects during the initiation phase to ascertain impact on existing systems, provide inputs on risks, analyze and propose solutions to potential issues that might hinder the project.
    • Develop metrics and generate reports to demonstrate performance of the infrastructure platform and application components, showing trends and utilization levels on a regular basis.
    • Plan, coordinate, and provide on-site support for product demonstration.
    • Perform other related duties as directed by the manager.
    • Assignments as directed by management


    • Master degree with 3+ years of related experience or college degree with 5+ years related experience in software project management, with insights on frontend software (web, Android, iOS) development, backend software (server, database, cloud service) development, and system integration.
    • Experiences planning and executing SQA, scalability, and testing process.
    • Some understanding of both Agile software development and Scrum methodologies, as well as traditional waterfall development model.
    • Experience working with software development team, external technology vendors, and ODM’s system integration team.
    • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
    • Experience with supporting and working on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
    • Experience with project management software tools and utilities.
    • Experience with analytic report creation and independent analysis.
    • Experience with writing product / project requirement document and compiling project status presentation.
    • Experience with budget and cost analysis.
    • Ability to speak Japanese a plus.
