The Advanced Quality & Compliance Manager is responsible to lead the manufacturing plants and Sharp Japan through all types of automotive compliance. This includes all phases of APQP & PPAP including proper capacity planning, Ford Q1 and GM BIQS, IATF 16949, sub-supplier management and more.


The primary mission will be to create and manage gap closure plans for each requirement and then work with the manufacturing plants to achieve complete compliance. As this progresses and the plant starts to become self-sufficient, the responsibility will shift toward management of compliance during start of development and into production, working with Sharp facilities globally. (USA, Europe, Asia Pacific)


The position will primarily support Ford / GM and its Tier-1’s but will not be limited to these customers. 


  • Lead Advanced Quality Planning teams within the Sharp Business Units for Sharp globally.
  • Lead the Global Compliance Team and resolve needs to achieve successful program launches.
  • Coordinate training and guidance at the above facilities about how to meet Automotive requirements.
  • Clearly communicate with Sharp headquarters to negotiate the resources and funding needed to meet customer requirements.
  • Breaks down roadblocks within Sharp to achieve desired results!
  • Coordinates Sharp teams through the activities to meet customer objectives and satisfaction.
  • Directs the organization to meet and maintain all Automotive requirements.
  • Understands both Advanced and Reactive Quality and can fluently guide the organization in either environment.
  • Able to solve difficult problems at the factory and navigate to implement interim and permanent corrective actions.
  • Ensures that all groups within Sharp understand APQP and PPAP product launch deliverables and drive the organization to on-time submissions.
  • Be the demanding “Voice of Quality” for new product launches and coordinate activities within multiple departments and business units to achieve Global Quality goals and objectives.
  • Able to work/travel globally.
  • Lead IATF16949 related audits (Management review meeting, Internal audit and 3rd party IATF16949 audit)


  • Knowledge of AIAG Core Tools (Quality Methods) is required.
  • Electrical, electronic circuit experience and mechanical aptitude is preferred for this position.
  • The ideal candidate will know Automotive OEM requirements well enough to teach them and will be able to guide the organization to achieve these objectives. 
  • Provides Leadership for Advanced Quality activities during a new product that is launching on multiple Ford platforms from Quote through product launch +90. (Gate 0 to Gate 5 or Phase 0 to Phase 3).
  • Represents the business units for Sharp globally during customer visits and audits.
  • Develops trusting and professional 2-way relationships with customers by keeping them happy while meeting all their objectives.
  • Required to travel globally to diagnose, verify and evaluate quality issues on both development and launching programs.
  • Coordinates with Sharp Japan and China to make sure Run at Rate trials succeed.
  • Fluent with AIAG Core tools.
  • Fluent with Ford Q1, GM BIQS, IATF 16949 & ISO/TS requirements and compliance methods.
  • Proficient with Automotive Portals and databases such as Covisint.
  • Moderately proficient with all Microsoft Office applications. Very proficient at Excel and able to sort, pivot and filter data to draw valid and statistically relevant conclusions.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in the English language (written and verbally).



 The preferred candidate will possess 3 or more of the certificates below and will work to obtain all once in position.

  • ISO/IATF:16949 Certified (preferred Lead Auditor)
  • VDA 6.3 Certified
  • Ford Certified Capacity Planner to V5.6
  • AIAG CQI-20 Root Cause Analysis
  • BSEE or equivalent experience
