Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer to join us for the summer.  You'll get hands-on experience in the automotive industry.   We're looking for current students in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering programs who are excited to learn.

 

Throughout the program, you will develop your skillset and overall business acumen, gain product (Display / Camera) and industry knowledge, and may engage with other summer interns as well as senior leaders in the organization. You will work directly under the supervision of one of our department managers &/or engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on automotive display and camera market trends focusing on design, functionality, and safety.
  • Collaborate with the lead engineer to conduct simulations and testing for LCD driving circuitry.
  • Create simulation models to analyze display optical performance data.
  • Assist the lead engineer in conducting hands-on engineering for field warranty parts as needed.
  • Document findings in formal reports and present results to engineering mentor.

Qualifications

  • Current student enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering with a concentration in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Manufacturing, Plastics, or similar field.
  • Familiarity with engineering computer programs, such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, SPICE and MATLAB.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated, result-oriented team player mindset.

Sharp Electronics Automotive Group is responsible for the design and manufacturing of various display technologies for automotive applications. The demand for these products has been steadily growing in cars and Sharp is leading these efforts to provide cutting edge technologies for our automotive customers.

 

 

Summer Internship Details:

  • Compensation: The hourly rate is $17/hr.
  • Duration: The internship program spans approximately 10 weeks, running from June 3rd to August 9th, 2024.
  • Housing: We do not provide housing or a housing stipend for interns.
  • Work Visa: Unfortunately, we do not offer work visa sponsorship for this role, including participation in Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), and F-1 Visa programs.
