Overview

The Production Print Specialist plays a critical role in executing general sales, competitive analysis, marketing programs, and solutions selling strategies. This position is responsible for achieving the Production Print sales quota and increasing market share.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-Sale and Post-Sale Support:
    • Provide pre-sale and post-sale support for Sharp production monochrome and color print devices, as well as related software, within a specific branch or territory.
    • Collaborate with branch account executives as a client-facing subject matter expert to drive sales.
  • Sales Achievement:
    • Achieve assigned quota by selling Sharp production color/b&w devices.
    • Emphasize growth in new placements and revenues (both equipment and aftermarket).
    • Ensure customer satisfaction and maintain the existing customer base.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Support all Sharp color equipment (70+ ppm) and Sharp b&w equipment (90+ ppm).
    • Conduct customer needs analysis, demonstrations, and application support.
    • Assist sales professionals during sales calls.
  • Territory Management:
    • Support an assigned branch, which may span multiple sales territories.
    • Create and manage target lists to identify production sales opportunities aligned with the SBS ideal client profile.
  • Sales Cycle Management:
    • Work closely with sales professionals to manage production sales cycles.
    • Train and develop the sales team to recognize and pursue production opportunities.
  • Collaboration and Problem-Solving:
    • Lead customer presentations and demonstrations.
    • Identify opportunities from assessments and translate them into a business case, outlining financial justification and improvements in quality, performance, and uptime.
    • Facilitate strategic discussions on production strategies for non-technical audiences.
    • Spot skill gaps within the branch sales and service operation and implement corrective actions.
    • Collaborate with designated service personnel to complete the installation of associated workflow software and production-oriented finishing options.
    • Prepare and submit required business plans, activity reports, and forecasts on time.

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred or 5+ years equivalent sales experience in the production print market or a similar capacity in a related field.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication (oral, written, and presentation skills).
  • Highly detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Experience creating and delivering professional sales presentations.
  • Strong understanding of print drivers, printer networking, graphics programs, color theory, web-based submission programs, print workflow software, color management, and specific types of media.
  • OS knowledge: Apple, Windows platforms.
  • Software knowledge: Applications including the core Adobe suite (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Macromedia Freehand, QuarkXPress, as well as the Microsoft Office suite.
  • File formats: Application source files as well as JPEG, PDF, EPS, and TIF/GIF.
  • Familiarity with proprietary software/tools for common digital front ends (e.g., Fiery).
  • Strong knowledge of digital automation, workflow solutions, and third-party finishing.
  • 80% plus travel required

 

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Must be able to lift and transport up to 50 lbs.
  • Must not be color blind.
  • The ability to see and detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
  • Climbing (stairs)
  • Dexterity (work with small, compact equipment or tight spaces within equipment).
  • Must be able to read and comprehend documents on computer screens or in printed form.

Compensation for this position

The compensation range for this role is $67,950- $119,300. The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, commissions, and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
