Overview

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for pre-production evaluation and post production life testing of Sharp and Sharp branded devices to ensure they meet or exceed Sharp Standards.  The QA Specialist is accountable and responsible for the initial quality and ongoing quality support of assigned products along with leadership of group activities.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluations of new products to ensure the quality and serviceability of the product prior to launch. Assists in communicating evaluation summaries to the responsible groups and ensures the release meets the standards necessary to maintain the Sharp brand. Products include
  • MFP (printer, copier, scanner)
  • ProAv (desktop and large format monitors, Digital Projectors, dvLED and controllers)
  • Software
  • Communicates product quality issues accurately and timely to the respective overseas Quality Control Center. Maintains records of all open issues. Ensures satisfactory closure of quality issues is reached in an expeditious manner to protect the Sharp brand image and minimize excessive service costs.
  • Provides timely responses to all inquiries for assistance from internal and external customers. Thoroughly communicates resolution to applicable persons through phone contact, e-mail, technical bulletin, or other available means.
  • Responsible and accountable for the development and distribution of technical bulletins and other service support documentation based upon factory information and / or field support needs. Ensures technical bulletins are completed within the required timeframe to minimize the effects of the issue on the field and to maximize / improve customer satisfaction.
  • Prepares reports, as requested by the Sr. Director of QA, on issues such as product performance, parts usage, warranty claims, or other reports as required.
  • Maintains department files in a thorough and complete manner. This includes files on all products and tasks assigned to the individual, safety concern incidents, competitive information, and any other files necessary for the performance of assigned duties and protection of the company's interests.
  • Provides technical support and assistance to field technicians and internal staff via the technical assistance hotline, other electronic means, and / or through technical seminars.
  • Performs product rework activities as directed by the Sr. Director Quality Assurance

Qualifications

  • Degree or certificate in electronics or electrical engineering from an accredited college or technical school and seven years of technical experience in the office equipment industry.
  • Extensive service and support related experience (5+ years) within the office automation industry.
  • Possess and be able to demonstrate expert level knowledge in key SIICA product technologies.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. 
  • Demonstrate competency regarding networking and associated software applications incorporated with SIICA products.
  • Travel required 30%.

Compensation for this position

The compensation range for this role is $88,000-95,000. The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, commissions, and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
