Overview

The Technical Trainer is responsible for providing technical and product training at the Sharp Media Systems Group Training Centers and at dealer, partner and branch locations for Sharp MFPs and Imaging Systems support network.

 

Responsibilities include designing curriculum and training materials for the department, and for writing, editing, and/or proofing curriculum products for the classroom and for the Service Success Center websites.  Additionally, this position is responsible for writing, editing, and proofing the following material types: marketing materials and correspondence from the department to internal service staff and dealer, partner and branch personnel; web-based content on the Service Success websites; and correspondence regarding all training programs to internal Sales and Service staff and Dealer, Partner and Branch personnel.  Corresponding with internal and external customers via email and telephone and performing administrative duties as necessary are also requirements of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for staying current on product knowledge and software used for development and project creation.
  • Develop and deliver in-depth technical training programs on Sharp and Sharp-branded devices to internal teams, dealers, and partners.
  • Facilitate live training sessions, including in-person workshops, webinars, and virtual demonstrations Will participate in the development and review of curriculum and materials used in the training classes. This includes writing classroom curriculum, website curriculum and writing and implementing testing materials for both formats.
  • Will produce audio and video for Sharp Learning portal.
  • Must be willing and able to travel supported territories.

Qualifications

  • Degree or certificate in electronics or electrical engineering from an accredited college or technical school and or five years of technical training experience as a Technical Trainer in the office equipment industry.   
  • Must be a self-motivated person with strong creative writing, technical writing, editing, and proofing skills. This individual should be able to edit, and proofread content created by other individuals, as well as their own work.
  • Must demonstrate a proven ability to effectively explain complex technical concepts in terms understandable to people of varying technical ability levels.
  • Proven ability to gather and assimilate resources from a variety of sources (i.e., Internet, marketing materials, technical guides) to create curriculum content.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Experience with Adobe CC, Articulate 360.
  • Must be an effective multi-tasker.   Must demonstrate flexibility, leadership, creativity, and a drive to rise above average to produce the highest quality work.  Must have attention to detail, a command of order, a sense of humor, and a drive for client satisfaction.  This person will be encouraged to be original, innovative, and a leader toward projects and clients.

Compensation for this position

The compensation range for this role is $70,600- $80,00. The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, commissions, and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
