Overview

The Master Planner of Sharp Manufacturing Company of America (SMCA) will be responsible for managing the Demand Planning and Master Production Schedules (MPS) to meet Customer expectations while minimizing cost. The Master Planner will achieve this through analysis of materials inventory and availability, transportation options, and production capacity. The Master Planner will work with Procurement, Production, and Marketing to meet the demands of our customers while achieving production, sales, and inventory goals. The Master Planner will identify and analyze marketing trends and supply chain risks while coordinating the execution of the short/mid-term sales forecasts based on business objectives and targets. The Master Planner will work with the Product Design team and Engineering to schedule successful launches of new products.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Update/forecast/interpret the Master Production Schedule (MPS) reporting based on customers’ demands, production capacity, and inventory targets.
  • Ensure accuracy of the MPS data. Maintain/Update MPS requirements in Sharp’s Enterprise Resource Planning system (SAP). Candidate must have strong MRP understanding and knowledge.
  • Lead monthly internal MPS meetings using communication skills to influence top management in decisions.
  • Proactively identify and resolve inbound parts shortages and supply issues collaborating closely with Buyers.
  • Interface between Production, Buyers, and the OEM Sales department on issues such as production delays.
  • Work directly with Sales department, and as necessary directly with Customers, to analyze and apply Customer forecasts, Purchase Orders, and special requests to the MPS. Suggest and inform updates to the Daily Production Schedules to meet changing customer priorities.
  • Maintenance of Finish Good Production Versions in SAP.
  • Maintain sales forecasts reports for internal use based on MPS.
  • Review and assist the Shipping and Sales Departments with deployments of OEM shipments based on customer needs and product availability.
  • Conduct research to determine root causes of supply chain issues, evaluate and recommend solutions for reconciliation.
  • Make sound, independent decisions within established Policy and Procedural guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in Planning/Scheduling/Forecasting/Procurement/Material Management.
  • Solid understanding in demand forecasting, production planning/scheduling, inventory management.
  • Excellent relationship building skills: Communication, Problem-Solving, Critical Thinking.
  • ERP systems experience (SAP preferred). MRP knowledge. Advanced MS Excel Spreadsheet skills.
  • ASCM/APICS Certification, Supply Management, Procurement certifications a plus.

Compensation for this position

The compensation range for this role is $54,484 -$102,157. The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
